Leadership Training

 

There is a shortage in the developing world of persons with the skills to manage and operate self-sustaining healthcare facilities. As a consequence, many potentially successful projects fail due to a lack of skilled leadership or an inability to replace leaders when they retire or relocate.

The Eyesight International Group is working to address this problem. In January 2001, candidates from all areas of India who were identified as potential leaders attended a leadership-training course sponsored by Eyesight International through the L.V. Prasad Eye Institute in Hyderabad, India. The course - the first of many to be presented over the coming years - was designed and delivered by Drs. Dewey Evans and Dave Matheson (ELM Group, Quality in Healthcare), Canadian experts in leadership and healthcare administration.
