Eyesight
International recognizes the value of creating synergies with other
organizations. Our efforts are supported by several important partnerships.
Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA)
Eyesight International receives funding from CIDA to develop
two Community Eye Care Hospitals to serve rural areas in the state of
Andhra Pradesh, India. These hospitals will provide high quality care
on a financially self-sustaining basis.
The L.V. Prasad Eye Institute
The L.V. Prasad Eye Institute in Hyderabad, India is a
premier eye institution in the developing world. Eyesight International
provides ongoing education programs for health care professionals at
L.V. Prasad. We are also working with L.V. Prasad on research into the
storage of corneal transplantation tissue and the development of self-sustaining
rural eye care programs.
Eye Bank Association of India (EBAI)
Eyesight International members have worked with the EBAI
since its inception in 1990, assisting with the development of medical
standards and accreditation programs and the training of eye surgeons
and health care professionals in eye banking.
University of Ottawa Eye Institute
Eyesight International has worked with the University
of Ottawa to assist in the development of eye care in Dominica.
The International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness
(IAPB) - 20/20 program
Eyesight International is a member of the IAPB and is
a participant in the 20/20 program, sponsored by the World Health Organization.
